How do you sell nutrition coaching packages online?
In short: Turn your services into a small number of packages, each with a clear outcome, a price and a billing term, and put them on a page where people can pay without emailing you. Checkout should take payment, collect the details you need to start and give access to your app or programme straight away. Then let the subscription handle renewals, failed payments and cancellations so you don't chase invoices.

Decide what you are selling
Most online nutrition businesses end up with some mix of four package types. Two or three packages is plenty. More than that and people stall at the choice.
| Package | Billing | Typically includes | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ongoing one-to-one coaching | Monthly or quarterly, recurring | Check-ins, messaging, plan updates | Clients with a long goal, or a condition to manage |
| Fixed programme | One payment for a set term, e.g. 12 weeks | A structured start, a set number of sessions | A clear goal with an end date |
| Meal plan subscription | Weekly or monthly, recurring | A new meal plan each period, little or no contact | Self-directed clients, lower price point |
| Group challenge | One payment | Shared plan, group chat, a start date | Filling a quiet month, building a list |
Price each one against the time it takes you, not against what the practitioner down the road charges. There is more on that in how to price nutrition packages.
Recurring or fixed-term billing
Recurring billing charges every week, month or quarter until the client cancels. It suits ongoing coaching and meal plan subscriptions, and it's what makes your income predictable.
Fixed-term billing charges once for a set period and then ends. It suits programmes, and some clients find it easier to commit to a known total than an open-ended subscription.
My preference for coaching is quarterly recurring. Behaviour change takes longer than a month, and a quarterly price gets both of you past the first wobble without locking anyone in for a year.
What checkout has to do
A payment link on its own leaves you doing the admin by hand. A good checkout does all of this in one flow:
- Takes payment by card, and renews it on schedule.
- Creates the client account, so you are not copying details across.
- Collects what you need to start: body measurements, goals and food preferences.
- Gives access to your app, portal or programme the moment payment clears.
- Removes that access when a subscription ends, and tells the client when a payment fails.
- Sends a welcome email that says exactly what happens next.
If you're doing any of these steps manually at the moment, that's where new clients wait and where some drop out.
Fees and tax to plan for
Card processors charge a percentage of each payment plus a small fixed fee, and the rate depends on your country and the card. Check your processor's current pricing for your region rather than guessing.
If your software takes a platform fee on sales, add it on top. Build both into the price instead of absorbing them, and check the sum on your cheapest package, where a fixed fee bites hardest.
Tax depends on where you and your clients are. In New Zealand and Australia, GST applies once you pass the registration threshold. Decide whether your prices include tax and say so on the page.
Getting people to the page
- Put the store link in your social bios, email signature and booking confirmation.
- Add two or three testimonials that name a specific result.
- Answer the questions people email you in an FAQ on the page.
- If you run ads, install your ad platform's tracking so you know which ones bring buyers.

How to do it in Foodzilla
Foodzilla gives you a store page, subscription checkout through your own Stripe account, and automatic app access for buyers. Store & Payments is on the Professional plan and above, for the account owner.
- 1Go to Store & Payments. On Store Settings, set your store name and custom URL, and add images, your logo, a video, testimonials and FAQs.
- 2On Plans & Pricing, press Add New Plan. Give it a Plan Name and Description, add pricing options (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly), and pick a Subscription Type: Recurring or Fixed-term.
- 3In the same plan, list the Features clients get, and under Excluded App & Portal Features hide anything this package doesn't include. The app is set up that way automatically when a client subscribes.
- 4On Stripe Setup, press Connect Stripe and finish the set-up on Stripe. The tab shows your Platform Fee: 7% on Professional, 5% on the Team and White Label plans. Stripe charges its processing fees separately.
- 5Edit the automatic emails on Email Templates, and add your Meta Pixel ID on Tracking Scripts if you run ads. Lead and Purchase events are sent for you.
- 6Press Preview Store to test with the $0 test price, then View Store and share the link. Buyers create an account, enter their body metrics, goals and diet preferences, choose a plan and pay. The Revenue tab tracks what comes in.
