Whole Foods Diet Plan
A week of food as close to its original form as you can get, across all food groups. Lean protein, whole grains, unsaturated fats, fruit, and vegetables. Edit it in Foodzilla.
What a whole-foods diet is
Food as close to its original form as you can get. Unlike diets that ban a food group, this one includes fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, lean meat, fish, eggs, and lightly processed dairy.
The rule is simple: few added ingredients. Whole grains instead of refined. Fresh produce instead of sugary canned fruit. Protein without a long additive list.
Diets built this way are linked with lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, and with easier weight control, steadier energy, and better digestion.
Why people use it
The evidence is less flashy than a named diet, and more consistent:
- Higher nutrient density. Processing strips vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients.
- Gut. Fibre from whole grains, fruit, and vegetables feeds bacteria and keeps stools regular.
- Blood sugar. Intact fibre and complex carbohydrate release energy more slowly than refined food.
- Heart. Omega-3s, potassium, magnesium, and fibre show up on their own when the food is whole.
- Weight. Whole food fills people on fewer calories than ultra-processed food, so many clients eat less without counting.
- Inflammation. Less refined sugar and industrial seed oil, more antioxidant-rich plants.
What is in this week
About 2,000 calories: 130g protein, 230g carbohydrate, 65g fat, and 35g fibre. Three meals and two or three snacks.
Protein. Chicken, turkey, wild-caught fish, eggs, Greek yogurt, legumes, tofu.
Complex carbohydrate. Brown rice, quinoa, oats, sweet potato, whole-grain bread.
Fat. Avocado, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, seeds, oily fish.
Fruit and vegetables. A mix of colours. Aim for five to nine servings a day.
