Häufig gestellte Fragen

What is a nutrition facts label?

A nutrition facts label is an FDA-required label that displays the nutritional content of packaged foods. It shows serving size, calories, macronutrients (fat, carbs, protein), and key micronutrients with their % Daily Values.

Is this nutrition label FDA compliant?

This generator creates labels following the current FDA nutrition facts label format. However, for commercial use, you should verify your label meets all FDA requirements and have it reviewed by a regulatory specialist.

How do I calculate % Daily Value?

% Daily Value is calculated by dividing the amount of a nutrient per serving by its Daily Value reference amount, then multiplying by 100. For example, if a food has 300mg sodium per serving, the %DV is (300/2300) x 100 = 13%.

What allergens must be declared?

The FDA requires declaration of the 9 major food allergens: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame. These must be clearly identified on the label.

How do I determine the correct serving size?

Serving sizes are based on Reference Amounts Customarily Consumed (RACC) established by the FDA. They reflect typical portions people actually eat, not recommended amounts. Check FDA guidelines for your specific food category to determine the appropriate serving size.
