How to Use Cliniko + Foodzilla Together: Complete Integration Guide
If you're using Cliniko for practice management, adding Foodzilla gives you professional meal planning capabilities without disrupting your existing workflow. This guide walks you through connecting the two platforms and making the most of the integration.
Why Connect Cliniko with Foodzilla?
Cliniko is excellent for practice management—scheduling, client records, Medicare claiming, and billing. But it doesn't include nutrition-specific tools like meal planning, recipe databases, or client food tracking.
Foodzilla fills that gap. By connecting the two platforms, you get:
Step 1: Create Your Foodzilla Account
If you don't already have a Foodzilla account:
- 1. Go to platform.foodzilla.io
- 2. Click "Start Free Trial"
- 3. Enter your details and create your account
- 4. Complete the onboarding steps to set up your practice profile
The free trial gives you full access to all features for 10 days, including the Cliniko integration.
Step 2: Generate a Cliniko API Key
To connect Foodzilla with Cliniko, you need to create an API key in your Cliniko account:
- 1. Log in to your Cliniko account
- 2. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right)
- 3. Click Integrations in the left menu
- 4. Select API Keys
- 5. Click Generate New API Key
- 6. Name it "Foodzilla" (or similar) so you remember what it's for
- 7. Copy the generated API key—you'll need this in the next step
Important: The API key is only shown once. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new one.
Step 3: Connect Foodzilla to Cliniko
Now add your API key to Foodzilla:
- 1. Log in to your Foodzilla account
- 2. Go to Settings
- 3. Click Integrations
- 4. Find the Cliniko section
- 5. Paste your API key in the provided field
- 6. Click Save or Connect
- 7. Toggle the integration to Enabled
Once enabled, you'll see a confirmation that Foodzilla is connected to your Cliniko account.
Step 4: Import Clients from Cliniko
With the integration active, you can import your Cliniko patients into Foodzilla:
- 1. In Foodzilla, go to Clients
- 2. Click Add Client or Import
- 3. Select Import from Cliniko
- 4. Search for the client by name or email
- 5. Click to import the client
The client's basic details will be imported automatically. You can then add nutrition-specific information as needed.
